If broke people make fun of your financial plan your are on a great track. Its like Fat people making fun of your diet. — DaveRamsey (@DaveRamsey)
3 Months

So it’s been 3 months and I’m getting bit better every day.
As a bit of therapy, I have added a few bits to the rifle.
Enjoy!
RIP Little Truck…
The Customization Continues
The latest score for Project AR, as seen in the pic above, is this bipod that attaches to the bayonet lug.
It’s from NC Star and comes with two different attachment points so that it’ll fit just about every bayonet lug out there.
It installed really easily and functions even easier.
It also extends, as seen in the pic below.
You may also notice the addition of a Bushnell red dot sight. It’s a TRS-25 and it was such a great deal!! Anyhow, it took only a few rounds to sight it in, with the help of the iron sights, and has worked beautifully since.
Now that’s a scary sight…
Here’s a great review of the TRS-25 from the NUTNFANCY project:
As you can see, there’s good things going on around here!
(If it would just stop snowing!)
All that’s really left to get for Project AR is a Magpul MOE Carbine Stock and a Magpul MOE Hand Guard, both in flat dark earth.
Oh, and then the last, best thing is a forward grip with integrated light and laser…Best of both worlds!!!!!
Yes that was a real rifle…
So in my previous post, I showed you pics of my two firearms, a Springfield Armory XDm-9 semi-automatic pistol and a CMMG AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
The pistol is a polymer-framed beauty with a 4.5-inch barrel, stainless steel slide and a whopping 19-round magazine capacity. What drew me to it was the look, feel and extras you get with any XD or XDm purchase.
Along with a case, you get two magazines, a two-magazine “pouch” with belt loops, a “paddle” holster which doesn’t need a belt to stay on, a magazine loader that really helps loading all 19 rounds into each magazine, a gun lock, bore brush and an allen wrench to adjust the snugness of the holsters.
The three extra magazines and magazine pouch in the picture are compliments of a Springfield Armory
promotion for people who purchased their pistols between October and the end of 2010. It’s pretty freakin’ sweet to have the ability to carry 95 rounds for when the Russians invade…or Armageddon happens…or aliens try to take over the world.
Since I bought the XDm, I have fired at least 1000 rounds through it and I love how it works! I haven’t had any mishaps, jams or anything else bad happen. I have even fired some pellet rounds and made my target look like a star field.
The CMMG AR-15 is basically a civilian version of the M16 the military uses. There are a multitude of companies that manufacture these rifles and CMMG happens to be one that resides in Missouri.
I first learned about CMMG because my range, Ultimate Defense, has one for rent. I bought it at the local gun show that was held in the beginning of November from the “Scratch & Dent” pile at the manufacturers booth for a whole lot less than the retail value. The reason I choose it was because it is an all-CMMG rifle. The rest of the rifles in the pile had lower receivers from other companies.
Observant readers will have noticed in the previous post an optical sight on the AR. Well, the saying you get what you paid for bites me again…so now I have flippable iron sights that were really inexpensive on Amazon. Sometimes you find a great deal! And, with all three magazines loaded, I have 90 rounds of ammo to hold back the aliens/Russians/Armageddon. How cool is that?!
So there you have it, a quick rundown of the current firearms in the armory. More updates later.
Every Man Needs A Hobby
Posting this from the phone…a nice long test!
It seems that most young boys grow playing cops and robbers or cowboys and indians and have a natural tendency towards guns.
I grew up in a house where we didn’t hunt or fish or have any type of outdoorsy stuff. We didn’t camp either.
Which brings me to my latest “hobby”.
Since I’m not really sure how this is going to work, I will stop here and post more when I can!

Liquor…It Makes The World Go ‘Round!
Last Summer, the wife and I got the chance to spend some quality time with one of my favorite cousins in the shadows of New York City. We did the “City” thing and also had a great time just hanging at the house.
Thankfully, my cousin and her husband like the finer things and like to share their experiences with those around them.
One of the more enlightening experiences they shared was a little drink called Dark And Stormy. This wonderful concoction is made by combing Goslings Black Seal Rum (dark) and Stormy Ginger Beer…you get it?? Some recipes call for lime juice but you can do without for the full effect of ginger goodness.
What makes this drink great is how the rum mellows out the ginger beer just enough to take some bite out of it but not enough to keep the intense flavor form gushing out all over the place.
The reason I bring this up now, a year later, is whilst perusing the local Happy Store, in this case Friar Tuck’s that opened near my work, I saw they had Stormy Ginger Beer. “What are the chances they have Goslings Rum?” I said to myself. I think you know the outcome!
Thanks for stopping in and don’t forget to quench that thirst!
So Much Going On, So Little Time!
It’s been a while since I posted here. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to run my space in the blog-o-sphere and I think I’ve got it now!
So I’m going to use this space for everything else in life that isn’t Android- or Car-based. Which would be life, Xbox, Love, Marriage, TV, and everything else….I guess!
So here is the first little bit: There is a You Tube video out there that is just the funniest thing…see for yourself!
So this guy sees this rainbow and gets all emotional…classic. He says he wasn’t on anything but I think he has done his fair share over his life…probably some remnants left over now!
Thanks for stopping buy!
